We recently found ourselves traveling to Lithgow, NSW, twice in just a few weeks. Known for its iconic Zig Zag Railway and deep roots in coal mining, Lithgow is a town in transition. You can feel Lithgow reimagining itself. Every side street boasts unique and quirky art, and upcoming events are proudly displayed on every corner. The town’s main walkway pays tribute to the “Lithgow Flash,” Marjorie Jackson-Nelson, a local hero who sprinted her way to two Olympic gold medals. Rumour has it, an unknown local artist painted a portrait of her, personally signed by the champion herself—a quiet testament to the pride Lithgow holds for its own.

This pride is everywhere, especially in its people. At the Tin Shed Café, a simple question—“Where are you headed?”—led to an unexpected moment of connection. When we replied, “Here, to Lithgow,” their response was heartfelt: “Thank you for supporting Lithgow.” Sometimes, loyalty is as simple as gratitude. That moment created a bond, reminding us that a genuine “thank you” is one of the most powerful ways to build customer loyalty.

Peering through a real estate window, shielding the afternoon sun with our hands, we saw something remarkable—stunning heritage homes at prices that would be unimaginable in Sydney. Commercial properties tell the same story: affordability, potential, and opportunity.
